Cary’s commercial corridors run from Crossroads Plaza and Parkside Town Commons through the Weston Parkway office parks and the Cary Towne Center redevelopment. The mix is professional offices, healthcare practices, retail, and tech employers, which means a lot of mid-size occupied buildings where the work has to happen around people trying to do their jobs.

Proximity is worth something specific, and it is not only drive time. It is knowing how the Town of Cary handles permitting and how that differs from Wake County, and knowing which buildings in town have which quirks because we have been in them.

It also changes what a service call costs you. When the contractor is fifteen minutes away, a small problem gets looked at while it is still small. When the contractor is an hour away, the trip charge means everyone waits until there are three problems worth batching, and by then one of them has become expensive.

The work

The dominant job in Cary is a tenant fit-out in a multi-tenant office building. The pattern repeats: a suite gets vacated, the next tenant wants a different floor plan, and the ceiling above already holds four generations of abandoned cable that nobody ever removed.

Abandoned cable is not a cosmetic problem. It is a code problem, because accessible-ceiling cable that is not terminated and not tagged is supposed to come out, and it is a practical one, because eventually the tray is full and the next pull has nowhere to go. We remove the dead cable while we are in the ceiling anyway. It costs a little time and saves the next fit-out real money.
