We are licensed by the NC Board of Examiners of Electrical Contractors under the SP.FA/LV classification to perform commercial low-voltage electrical work statewide. That covers essentially everything a commercial building runs on below 100 volts: structured cabling, AV, paging and intercom, and low-voltage control wiring for HVAC, lighting, and building automation.
Clean cabling is the foundation every other building system sits on. Access control, cameras, wireless, VoIP, and building automation all fail in the same ways when the cable plant underneath them is bad, and they all fail in ways that look like something else. We install infrastructure that is labeled, tested, certified, and documented, so that the next person on site can work from the drawings instead of a toner.
Licensing, and why it matters here
Low voltage is the area where unlicensed work is most common, because the voltages feel harmless and the permitting is less visible than line-voltage work. It is still regulated. In North Carolina, commercial low-voltage electrical installation requires an electrical contractor’s license, and our SP.FA/LV.38826 classification is publicly verifiable through the state board. If you are bidding a commercial project, ask every contractor for their license number and check it. A cheap install by an unlicensed shop becomes your problem at inspection, at insurance renewal, and at sale.
Structured cabling
Cat6 and Cat6A copper, fiber backbone where the runs or the bandwidth call for it. Every drop gets tested and certified with results you receive as a deliverable, not a verbal assurance that it passed. Certification matters more than people expect: a link that “works” at gigabit today can be well out of spec and will fall over when you move to higher-speed switching or PoE-hungry devices, and by then nobody remembers who installed it.
Labeling is not decoration. Every drop gets labeled at both ends against a scheme agreed before we start, and the scheme goes into the as-builts. This is the single cheapest thing a cabling contractor can do to save a customer money over a building’s life, and it is the thing most often skipped.
Server rooms, IDF, and MDF
Rack layout, ladder rack and cable management, patch panel termination, grounding and bonding, and clean power and cooling coordination with the electrical and mechanical trades. A well-built MDF stays workable for a decade. A badly built one becomes a room nobody wants to open, where every change is a risk and troubleshooting starts with untangling.
AV, paging, and intercom
Conference room infrastructure, distributed audio, paging, and intercom, including the rough-in and the plate work. We generally prefer to run the infrastructure and coordinate with whatever AV platform you have standardized on, rather than pushing you toward a specific product line.
New construction and tenant fit-out
Pre-wire and rough-in for new commercial construction, and cable plant for tenant fit-outs. Rough-in is where the schedule is won or lost. Getting in at the right point in the sequence, coordinating with the electrical and mechanical trades, and sleeving and pathing for changes nobody has thought of yet is the difference between a clean install and a year of surface raceway.
Controls and building automation
Low-voltage electrical for HVAC controls, lighting controls, and building automation, including the wiring the controls vendor needs and the coordination to get it where they need it, on the schedule they need it.
Documentation
Every job ends with as-builts: what got installed, where it runs, how it is labeled, and what the test results were. This is what we mean by building with the next person in mind. You may not use us for the next phase, and the documentation should not care.
Common projects: new commercial construction cabling and rough-in, tenant fit-out cable plant, server room and IDF/MDF buildouts, AV and conference room infrastructure, and low-voltage control wiring for HVAC and lighting integration. Most of this work pairs naturally with alarm and access control and fire alarm, which we are licensed for as well.
